Terms of Service
Last updated 10 September 2026
These terms cover the Lufa website and the Lufa app. The parts most people actually need are sections 4 to 7: what the subscription costs, how it renews, and where to cancel it.
1. Who you are dealing with
Lufa is operated by Ralf Pitter, Siechenstrasse 60, 96052 Bamberg, Germany — hi@pitterapps.com. See the legal notice.
By using the website or the app you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use Lufa.
2. What Lufa is
Lufa is a structured eight-week running plan built for people who cannot yet run five kilometres without stopping, delivered as a mobile app. It builds a plan from your answers, guides each session with interval timing and spoken cues, and adjusts the plan according to how you say each session felt.
Lufa is a piece of software. It is not a coach, not a physiotherapist, and not a medical service. Nobody reviews your data and nobody is monitoring your training.
3. Your health is your responsibility
Running loads your heart, lungs, joints and tendons. Before you start a running plan — this one or any other — talk to a doctor if you have a heart condition, a chronic illness, an injury, are pregnant, are significantly overweight, or have not exercised in a long time.
Stop immediately and seek medical help if you feel chest pain, pressure or tightness, become dizzy or faint, or feel a sharp pain in a joint or tendon. The app will tell you to keep going; it cannot see you, and you are the one who decides.
You use Lufa at your own risk and you remain responsible for judging whether a session is safe for you on the day.
4. No account, and what you get for free
You do not create an account. Without a subscription you can still install the app, answer the questions, and see the plan Lufa builds for you, including week one in full. Starting a session and seeing the remaining weeks require a subscription.
There is no free trial and no introductory price. What you pay on the first day is what you agreed to.
5. Subscription, price and renewal
Two subscriptions are offered:
- Weekly — €4.49, billed every week.
- Every 2 months — €19.99, billed every two months.
Prices are inclusive of VAT where applicable and may differ by country and by store. The price shown to you before you confirm is the price that applies.
Both renew automatically at the end of each period, at the same price, until you cancel. Renewal is charged to the payment method you used.
6. How to cancel
Where you cancel depends on where you subscribed, and it is not always the same place:
- Subscribed on this website — the payment runs through Stripe, which is the merchant of record. Use the management link in your purchase confirmation email, or write to us and we will send it to you.
- Subscribed inside the app on iPhone — Settings → your name → Subscriptions, in iOS.
- Subscribed inside the app on Android — Google Play → Subscriptions.
Cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends, otherwise the next period is charged. Cancelling stops the renewal; the period you already paid for runs to its end and access continues until then.
7. Right of withdrawal (EU consumers)
As a consumer in the EU you normally have 14 days to withdraw from a distance contract.
Because Lufa is digital content made available immediately, you consent — by confirming the purchase — to performance beginning at once, and you acknowledge that you thereby lose the right of withdrawal once performance has begun (§ 356 (5) BGB, implementing Art. 16(m) of Directive 2011/83/EU).
For purchases on this website, the contract is with Stripe as merchant of record, and Stripe's terms and withdrawal handling apply. For in-app purchases, Apple's or Google's terms apply.
8. Refunds
We do not process payments and therefore cannot issue refunds ourselves.
- App Store purchases — request a refund from Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
- Google Play purchases — request a refund through Google Play.
- Website purchases — contact Stripe support or write to us and we will forward your request.
If something went wrong on our side, write to hi@pitterapps.com and we will help you get it sorted.
9. Your plan and your data
Your plan and your training history are stored on your device. We hold no copy and cannot restore them for you.
That means: if you delete the app or lose the phone, the history is gone. A device backup (iCloud or Google) restores it if you have one. This is the price of a product with no account, and we would rather say it plainly than let you discover it.
10. Acceptable use
Do not reverse-engineer, decompile or resell the app, use it to build a competing product, remove or obscure notices, or access it by any means other than the app and this website. Do not use Lufa where doing so is illegal where you are.
11. Intellectual property
The app, the website, the training plans, the texts, the graphics and the name Lufa belong to us or to our licensors. Your subscription grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the app for your own training. It transfers nothing else.
12. Availability and changes
We aim to keep Lufa available and working, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted operation. Maintenance, an app-store change, or a failure at a provider can interrupt the service.
We may change or discontinue features. If a change materially reduces what a paid subscription gives you, you may cancel — and the renewal simply stops.
13. Liability
We are liable without limitation for injury to life, body or health, for intent and gross negligence, and under the German Product Liability Act.
For slight negligence we are liable only for breach of an obligation whose fulfilment makes the proper performance of this contract possible in the first place and on which you may reasonably rely, and then only for the foreseeable damage typical of this kind of contract.
Any further liability is excluded. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have as a consumer that cannot be limited by agreement.
14. Governing law and disputes
German law applies, without prejudice to the mandatory consumer-protection provisions of the country you habitually live in.
The European Commission provides an online dispute resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr. We are not obliged and not willing to take part in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board.
15. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top of this page shows when they last changed; the version in force when you subscribe is the one that applies to that subscription period.
